ABOUT THE PROJECT
In the PRIMA project, Viktor Černický asks himself how we can meet through art and what we can mediate with each other. He speaks of the performance as a "space" in which we can spend time in a different way, where joint movement and gesture transcend the world of communication and become a game. "A great inspiration for us is the Dutch Golden Age, a period that speaks to us through thousands of images exploding with living human energy and play. I'm interested in how we can have fun dancing and how we create diverse communities in this way. We rely on the atmosphere of banquets or parties on the one hand, family celebrations and peaceful moments at dinner on the other, but we are also interested in everything in between."

The Studio in Motion for the 33rd annual TANEC PRAHA 2021 festival is one of the steps to the upcoming PRIMA performance. We are developing the performance with its planned premiere in 2022 in cooperation with local communities in the Czech Republic, Spain, Italy and Romania. The PRIMA project is implemented within the Be SpectACTive project co-financed by the European Union's Creative Europe program in co-production with Tanec Praha, z.ú., Cafè de las Artes Teatro (ES), Teatrul national RaduStanca (RO) and CapoTrave/Kilowatt (IT)

The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Statutory City of Brno, the City of Prague and the District of Prague 3, co-produced by the TANEC PRAHA International Festival.

VIKTOR ČERNICKÝ
Viktor Černický creates works that exist on the fine border between dance, performance, circus and physical theatre. He leads the long-term research project Body as Object / Object as Body, which examines the dynamics of the relationship between the object and the subjective individuality of the artist. His first solo performance Parolapolea earned him nominations in the categories Dancer of the Year and Dance Production of the Year at the Czech Dance Platform 2017, where he was also presented with a special award in the form of participation in Choreographic Research Week at the B-Motion Festival in Bassano del Grappa.

His last solo performance PLI, performed after two years of work in November 2018, won the Audience Award and the Main Prize of the Czech Dance Platform 2019. Thanks to this performance, Viktor became part of the selection of the prestigious European contemporary dance network Aerowaves Twenty20.

He is currently involved in the European project Shape It, aimed at mediating dialogue between dancers and young audiences, and is preparing a new work in a co-production of the international Be SpectACTive! network. In addition to his own work, he collaborates with, among others, Jaro Viňarský, Dominique Boivin, Petra Tejnorová, Daniel Gulk and Compagnie Mossoux-Bonté. Since 2019, he has been a visiting teacher at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU) in the international Ma DOT program
