Lightness and joy of movement are inherent characteristics of dance. This is also a fitting description of Fantasie minor, a playful duet of two young street dancers choreographed by Marco de Silva Ferreira. Rhythmical footwork, subtle tones of Schubert's Fantasy in F minor and elemental drive of youth.

Fantasy in F minor by Franz Schubert, an Austrian composer of the late Classical and early Romantic eras, is full of softness, lightness and fairy tale dreaminess. World-renowned choreographer Marco de Silva Ferreira drew inspiration from this poetics and created a subtle, energy-burst duet for two young dancers. The mixture of lofty tones and street dance features transforms the void of the white stage into an imaginary playground ruled by youth and freedom. Without hiding its true nature behind a pretentious mask, Fantasie minor does not play anything. Instead, it invites seasoned spectators and beginner audiences of contemporary dance alike to experience a playful and animated show. The outdoor version does not detract from the brilliance of the work and further enhances the sense of freedom and naturalness.

Choreographer and performer Marco da Silva Ferreira was born in Portugal, where he also received a degree in physiotherapy and health sciences. In 2002, his interest in the human body shifted towards performative art and dance. He won the TV competition "So You Think You Can Dance" – Portugal in 2010. He has been working as a professional dancer with outstanding artists since 2008. Marco's significant stage shows entail HU(R)MANO (2013) and BROTHER (2016), both focused on the current sense of dance. With the support of BPDA, he created the fascinating piece "Carcasa," which will not be missing at this year's TANEC PRAHA.
