Unusual Artist Tirip
Luminous Daisies is a short dance performance telling the story of a Leucanthemum vulgare, with seven petals. This daisy gradually loses all its petals, every one of them symbolising a different stage in its relationship with love. Adriana Štefaňáková and Sten Heijster will take you through this story whilst wandering around the city. With the help of hand-drawn projected animations and our mobile projection bike, even the smaller unknown corners of concrete will come to life.
I’m Sten Heijster. I’m an interdisciplinary visual artist based in Espoo, working at the intersection of moving image, public scenography and performance. In my practice I am interested in exploring playful transformations of public spaces through audiovisual interventions and performances. Having previously studied fine art, my approach is poetic, non-media specific, and driven by experimentation and Improvisation. Movement plays a major role in my work. My drawings evoke feelings and memories of innocence, fragility, childhood, and violence. I translate my experiences into lines and movements. Sometimes recognizable shapes and forms emerge from my explorations. I love sharing my discoveries with the curious eyes around me.
Adriana Štefaňáková is a dancer, artist, choreographer and coach. She performs as a dancer in Jatka78 venue, with Dekkadancers, etc. She studied at Codarts University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, followed by an internship at Tanz Kassel, Germany, and it was during her studies that she met the multi-genre artist Sten Heijster.
