TANEC PRAHA Festival 2000 | 14 – 30 June 2000
TANEC PRAHA 2000 was a breakthrough year in the spirit of Trans Danse Europe, a project bringing together seven cultural metropolises in Europe (Avignon, Bergen, Bologna, Brussels, Helsinki, Reykjavík and Prague) from the European capitals of culture. For the first time ever the festival presented Nicole Mossoux. But the biggest star of the event was definitely the Ballett Frankfurt, appearing for the first time ever in a country of the former Eastern bloc. The piece by William Forsythe breaking down the borders of modern and neoclassical and the closing thrilling choreography One Flat Thing Reproduced were indelibly recorded in the perception of contemporary dance in the Czech Republic. Seven Sisters caused a sensation at the Main Train Station and the program also featured Palle Granhøj.
