Wednesday 3. 6. I 19.00
Ponec - dance venue
For the general public with prior dance experience
In the context of his new work Combat des Lianes, Zora Snake explores the relationship between humankind and nature, as well as the impact of our ecosystem on living beings. Drawing on an immersive journey into the forests of eastern and western Cameroon — undertaken together with the entire artistic team — the choreographer revisits the rituals of the Baka communities of Cameroon, one of the country’s Indigenous communities now under threat of disappearance. A dance of deconstructed polyphonies unfolds within the body, each gesture becoming a manifesto in its own right.
In this workshop, choreographer Zora Snake will share part of his creative process. Participants will be invited to explore the boundaries between dance and performance, drawing on the body’s resources and vital energies freed from individual vocabularies and habits. The workshop will further explore form, space, movement and dramaturgy as elements of a contemporary African dance language.
